A food distribution center sponsored by the Presbytery of San Gabriel should open its doors in Arcadia on September 15, the first step in providing more complete care for the homeless and hungry in the mid-San Gabriel Valley. A suspected arson fire at the Serbian Orthodox Church at 1424 S. Baldwin Avenue in Arcadia caused $200,000 in damage Tuesday, and sparked concerns among church members that the blaze was an act of political retaliation.
