Two Arcadia homes found by Arcadia Police Department to be used for indoor marijuana growing operations in the 1800 block of South Baldwin Avenue and the 300 block of West Woodruff Avenue. Gao Ming, 46-year-old male from Arcadia, Jia Hui Shen, 27-year-old male from El Monte, and Lan Lau, a 34-year-old female from Arcadia, were arrested and booked at Arcadia City Jail.

A fire leads Arcadia Police Department to 2,489 marijuana plants in the 2400 block of Louise Avenue. Suspects stole an estimated $20,000 in power from Southern California Edison for elaborate operation.
A San Bernardino teen is arrested following crash. Arcadia police find the fatal hit-and-run suspect, a 17-year old boy, hiding in the bushes after pedestrian, a 28-year-old man, is killed crossing Huntington Drive. The suspect drove a gray Dodge Charger, which was found in the 1200 block of Oakhaven Road, with front end damage and a broken windshield.
Isaac Campbell, 32, of San Gabriel, the suspect in the murder of Liya Lu, is being held in Hennepin County Jail in Minneapolis, Minnesota without bail. He is currently fighting extradition and it could be several weeks before he is returned to the San Gabriel area.
Arcadia Police Department S.W.A.T. Team busted a marijuana cultivation operation in the 300 block of Walnut Avenue. Three suspects, Xiaoshen Zhang, Te Zhang and Peng Song were arrested. See also Arcadia Weekly, p. 3, January 23, 2020.
LASD Homicide Assisting Arcadia Police Department With Murder Suicide Investigation. Husband, a 75-year-old and wife, a 68-years-old, are described as Asian and found dead in their home on the 500 block of Los Altos in Arcadia.
Gracie Gao, 57, and Steve Wang, 58, were arrested on suspicion of operating a house of prostitution on the 200 block of West Palm Avenue in Arcadia. Gao and Wang were booked on a misdemeanor charge and later released on $500 bail. The arrests at the well-kept ranch-style house surprised neighbors.
Frank Rubio, a 77-year old Temple City resident, was found dead in the side yard of a house in the 500 block of Las Tunas Drive. He had wandered away from a concert park and was missing for about 10 days. He appeared to have died from exposure.
Arcadia kidnapping, rape suspect Philippe Brian Lutete, 29, is charged with false imprisonment and sexual battery of a woman on November 26 in the 2900 block of Spruce Court. He was out on bail when he was also arrested on April 8, 2015 on suspicion of kidnapping and raping a woman over an 11-hour period.
Arcadia police nab residential burgler suspect 18-year-old Hassan Deontrae Murphy after a high speed pursuit. The residential burglary happened on the 2000 block of Carolwood Drive.
Daniel Tiberi, 43, who teaches psychology courses at Pasadena Community College, was arrested for having a "major home-based marijuana garden" in his Arcadia Avenue home. He was booked on "suspicion of cultivating marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute."

A recent string of robberies in Arcadia may have been committed by two serial robbers. The latest crime was reported at the 500 block of Las Tunas Drive. The suspects are two Latino men driving a green or blue, newer-model, 4-door sedan, in their mid-20s.
Bail was set at $1 million for Arcadian Hua Jiang, charged with enslaving a 20-year old woman from China. Her husband and co-defendant, Dianyi Zhai, will remain in custody without bail for several additional charges.
