Buron Fitts, former lieutenant governor of California, and Los Angeles district attorney, has announced he will run for Congress from the 12th congressional district. He lives in Arcadia.
Method of appointing T. C. Sullivan, Sr. to replace Philip Libby on Arcadia City Council is assailed. Colonel J. L. Althouse of the United Arcadia Citizens Association asks that people vote to fill unexpired terms.
Next Tuesday Arcadians will vote on two proposals: 1--Arcadia Elementary School Board seeks approval of $600,000 bond issue. 2--Tax increase to meet Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte High School district needs.

Paintings of two Arcadia watercolor artists, Dorothy Browdy Kushner and Herrica Hartmetz, will be displayed in the California Water Color Society's 37th National Exhibition.
