"Notes from the Library," a new monthly column in the Arcadia Tribune make its debut in the December 14 issue of the paper. Dennis Petticoffer will author the column.
Richard Singer was named editor & associate publisher of Foothill Inter-City Newspapers, publishers of the Arcadia Tribune. He replaces Wanda Tucker, who retired on May 16.
Louie Peterson who runs A & A Motorcycle Repair near the corner of La Porte & First Avenue has created a motorcycle museum in one part of his shop. On display are 20 mostly British motorcycles and a unique steam driven cycle. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 A.M. to 5 P.M.
With the Arcadia Historical Society museum building now completed on the inside, the society's board of directors is planning to appoint committees to catalog and determine how to display its collection of artifacts.

California Superior Judge Glenn M. Pfau, a 30-year resident of Arcadia, died December 13 at age 67. He is probably best known for being the first California trial judge to rule the state's death penalty law unconstitutional.
The Community Hotline, sponsored by the Arcadia Presbyterian Church, will be able to pay its telephone bill for the remainder of the year, thanks to a decision by the City Council to grant the telephone counseling service $8,000. Councilman Charles Gilb questioned using taxpayers' money for a church-related operation, and asked how the Hotline would raise funds next year. Rev. Bob Johnson, Hotline director, said the organization could be incorporated and operate as a non-profit group to raise funds.
Santa Anita Companies has announced earnings for the year ending December 31, 1981. Revenues were up 23.5%. Shares of the two companies, Santa Anita Operating Company and Santa Anita Realty Enterprises, Inc., are offered on the New York Stock Exchange under the name Santa Anita Realty Enterprises.
