GPS in bait package leads to arrest of two Canoga Park women who drove through Arcadia in a stolen car. The arrested women are Devon Ricco Menendez and Unique Rios. Mikki Porretta of Arcadia, has recovered her stolen car, a 2008 Cadillac CTS, and the cherished family photos that were in the trunk. The car was stolen in the 1000 block of Fairview Avenue at 6PM Wednesday last week. The car was recovered at Sunset Boulevard and Valley Drive.
Sergeant Dean Caputo said Arcadia Police Department has arrested suspect Cathrino Antonio Gomez, 36, a transient, on charges of auto theft, child endangerment and felony evading arrest. He was arrested after crashing the stolen car while fleeing police.

Joshua Martin Parra-Davis, 23, of Arcadia, pleaded not guilty in Pasadena Superior Court, to charges of possessing and leaving an explosive device in a backpack near a bank on Foothill Boulevard in Arcadia, on Friday, January 14, 2011. He is charged with four felony counts, including possession of a destructive device near a school. Parra-Davis, a former Foothills Middle School student, was seen opening a classroom door last Friday and then later was seen dropping the backpack into some bushes. The bag contained what appeared to be a homemade explosive.
The prosthetic leg belonging to Melissa Huff, Arcadia High School student, which was stolen last year, was found in a back yard in Temple City. It will be returned to her as soon as possible.

Officer Kevin Manley, 26, is recovering from his injury (shot in the jaw) by suspect Nurhan Venk during a domestic dispute and barricade. Manley has been with Arcadia Police Department for 6 months and worked for Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department before that. He has 3 years of law enforcement experience.
