The City Council has authorized the Arcadia Fire Department to issue citations for violations of the Uniform Fire Code. Mayor Gail Marshall honored William Barton and Arly Barton as citizens of the month.
Arcadia resident Linda Baum will serve as the Grand Marshall for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses equestrian unit. Baum will ride her 17-year-old pinto, Royal Warrior.

The Arcadia float in the 2003 Tournament of Roses Parade will be built by Bill Lofthouse, dean of Rose Parade float builders and owner of Phoenix Floats.
Purdy Tran of Arcadia is crowned by Pasadena Tournament of Roses President Gary Dorn. The 17 year old will reign over the 1998 Tournament of Roses Court.

One woman on the Royal Court of princesses is Rukan Saif of Arcadia High School. The others are Mia Thorsen of Marshall Fundamental School, Emilie Risha of Flintridge Sacred Heart, Reese Saporito of Marshall Fundamental School, Michael Wilkins of Marantha High School and Cole Fox of South Pasadena High School. Laura Farber is the Tournament of Roses President.

Arcadia resident Anjali Agrawai, 17, a senior at La Salle High School, was named one of the members of the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Royal Court for 2003.
"Ye Fairy of Ye Oak," 1915 Pasadena Tournament of Roses float entered by Mrs. Anita Baldwin McClaughry. Dextra McClaughry (age 13) and Baldwin McClaughry (age 10), children of Anita, rode on the float. Dextra, the Queen of Fairyland, stood beneath a spreading oak while the floor of the carriage was converted into a meadowland of softest green upon which shell pink roses, lilies-of-the-valley and hyacinths grew.
Pasadena Tournament of Roses new requirement. Royal Court candidates must be vaccinated. Applicants for the Royal Court must turn 17 before December 31, 2021. The Pasadena Area Community College District includes Arcadia, South Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre.

Kelly McGuire was crowned queen at the Arcadia Tournament of Roses Association's 19th annual coronation ball in the Grand Hall of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
