Marriott seeks two hotels in Arcadia. Andrew Chang, of Continental Assets Management, and owner of Santa Anita Inn, is proposing to build two Marriott hotels on the property. His proposal seeks to add 110 rooms to the West Huntington Drive property and would include a six-story Residence Inn and a four-story Fairfield Inn and Suites (Marriott brands). The Santa Anita Inn was built in 1955. The project will require approval from the Planning Commission and City Council.
The Santa Anita Inn was purchased 2 weeks ago by developer Charles Bluth, who is already implementing plans to turn the hotel at the corner of Huntington Drive and Colorado Place into a four-star inn. Renovation (with a New Orleans motif) should be completed by January.

The Flamingo Hotel (Ramada) stayed here 1955-c. 1984. It reopened as the Santa Anita Inn on February 8, 1986. On the same site, the Le Meridien Hotel, part of the Marriott chain, broke ground in June 2018 and opened in 2021.
A six-story Hilton Garden Inn could be the ninth hotel to come to the Huntington Drive corridor if plans announced by an Orange County-based developer are successful.

The five-story building, on the site formerly occupied by the Santa Anita Inn (its address was 130 West Huntington Drive), was set to open first quarter of 2020, but it has been delayed. It will have a combination of Art Deco elements, inspired by nearby Santa Anita Park, with Modernist features. Architecture firm Architects Orange, interior design firm Linda Snyder Associates, and Snyder Langston is the construction team building the Le Meridien development that spans 6.5 acres.

The 121-unit Marriott Residence Inn is scheduled to open for business on January 23. An "all-suites" hotel, the inn offers kitchens in every unit to entice "extended-stay" travellers.
Construction will begin in November on the $20 million hotel-office complex on the site of the Ramada Inn, according to John Kirkpatrick, the developer. Arcadia city officials will consider changes to its General Plan, a 25-year blueprint for land-use decisions. The new plan aims to revitalize the city's downtown (First Avenue and Huntington Drive) as well as the Live Oak Corridor in the city's southern end. "We're making it easier to develop the downtown and the area around the (future) Gold Line station," said Council Bob Harbicht. If approved, it would allow for mixed-use commercial and residential complexes, commercial square footages could double and the height limit would increase from 40 to 45 feet.

Construction will start in October on two four-story hotels on North Second Avenue. The Hilton Garden Inn and Fairfield Suites were given final approval by City Council Tuesday.
An upscale senior citizens' residential community has been proposed on the site of Santa Anita Inn. The project is called Huntington Pointe and will include 260 units. It would be owned by Huntington Partnership and E.D.I., which owns and operates Santa Anita Inn.
