Anoakia property annexation papers drawn up. The City Council has instructed its staff to file an annexation application and environmental impact report. Residents of a 23 acre triangle north of Jeffries and west of Mayflower still hope to become a part of Arcadia. Monrovia has protested the move, because they had thought it would include properties on only one side of Mayflower, only to discover that both sides were involved.

The Anoakia area has become a part of Arcadia as of August 15, 1975. The approximately 40 acre area has 40 registered voters. This culminates years of effort.
Arcadia Paramedics have been asked to assist in field training of paramedic trainees from PCC. The Fire Chief said that there is great reluctance to do so, but agreed that Arcadia Paramedics received their training from Los Angeles County and Beverly Hills Fire Departments and should repay this service by helping new trainees.
The general plan will be reviewed by the Planning Commission. The "central area" will be the focus of study. This area runs from the 210 Foothill freeway on the north to Duarte Road on the south and from the east city boundary to Santa Anita Avenue. It also includes the commercial section west of Santa Anita Avenue and north of Huntington Drive.
Residents in the Santa Anita Oaks area should receive some relief from the current traffic problems. Instead of barricading the streets as originally suggested, islands will be constructed to restrict some of the traffic.
An attorney for the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society has asked the Arcadia City Council to amend the municipal code so as to allow establishment of an animal shelter in Chicago Park.
