A woman shot in Arcadia early Monday morning appears to be a case of suicide rather than murder. Joseph Frank Randazzo is still being held for suspicion of murder while the investigation continues.
Arcadia police arrested Michael Kelly, 44, on suspicion of killing his 47-year-old brother Brian Kelly. Brian Kelly's body was found inside the apartment they shared in the 800 block of Fairview Avenue.

Monrovia man Sterling Williamson, 23, was arrested on suspicion of murder after he created a disturbance at a 7-Eleven store at 1003 South Baldwin Avenue on November 24, 2022, then allegedly crashed his car through the doors and tried to flee. Richard Dana intermediate school to open doors for first time. It is the second educational plant serving 7th and 8th grades, the other being First Avenue School. Dana's first principal is Joseph Bagnall. The modern school was designed by Boyd Georgi and Lee Kline, the same architects who planned the buildings at Camino Grove Elementary. Arcadia wine seller Rudy Kurniawan, 35, was arrested on suspicion of trying to sell $1.3 million worth of counterfeit wine and fraudulently obtaining millions of dollars in loans.
Arcadia Police arrested Juan Lorenzo, 31, and Jose Antonio Cruz Ramirez, 26, both of San Gabriel, on suspicion of the stabbing murder of Anthony Berry, 18, of Pomona, at 1300 S. Golden West Avenue. The suspects are employees of Money Pot Shabu Shabu restaurant and became involved in an argument with Berry. Lorenzo will be arraigned January 5, 2012.
A fight between 2 groups of men in front of an Arcadia apartment building resulted in one man being hospitalized for stab wounds. Joel Howe Chang of Arcadia was one of three arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Man arrested after shooting in Arcadia. A 47-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, August 10, for shooting and injuring an Arcadia police officer (shot in the jaw), the suspect's 73-year-old mother (shot in the chest) and the neighbor across the street (shot in the eye with stray bullet). All three are stable and expected to survive. The shooting and standoff happened at 2500 block of Greenfield Avenue due to a family dispute. The 26-year-old Arcadia officer has been with Arcadia Police Department for 6 months and has 3 years of previous law enforcement experience.
Arcadia police are investigating two separate incidents as possible homicides. One man was shot and killed during a robbery at a motel and a 35 year-old transient woman was found dead at Arcadia County Park.
A 22 year old Monterey Park man was shot and killed after leaving the Sportsrock Cafe about 1:30am and getting involved in an argument with 10-15 men in a nearby parking lot. He was shot with an illegal pen gun.
The 2001 murder of grocer Adel Karas, a 48-year old Egyptian man from Arcadia, a few days after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, was initially thought to have been a hate crime. He was shot at his store International Market at 1381 E. Last Tunas in San Gabriel. Now police suspect Adel Karas was the victim of extortion. The suspects are two Latinos in their mid-20s.
Stockbroker Richard Robert Russo will stand trial for the murder of his wife Carmen. She was found shot to death in the couple's exclusive Santa Anita Oaks home in August.
