Police find woman’s body in Arcadia backyard in the 300 block of East Forest Avenue. A 76-year-old Arcadia woman was killed yesterday at her home and her vehicle was stolen. The coroner’s office has not yet identified the woman. Neighbors said she was a longtime resident with two daughters and a grandson. The motive behind the killing is unknown.
Two teenage stabbing victims are expected to recover from injuries they sustained when they fought with unknown attackers outside the southeast side of the Westfield Shoppingtown Santa Anita mall.
Jerry Selmer and Doris Selmer (maiden name unknown) as children in Huntington Park, CA. They were neighbors. Jerry Selmer and Doris Selmer were longtime members and officers of Friends of the Library.
An L. A. County Public Works employee found the remains of a human body in the flood control basin in northeast Arcadia. The age and identity are unknown.
Police identified the partially clothed body of a woman found in alley near First Avenue and Alice Street as Nancy Christina Sanchez of Baldwin Park. The cause of death is unknown at this time.

The East Arcadia home of an Asian family was vandalized by unknown assailants. A motive for the crime was not known, though there was some speculation that it may have been racially motivated.
Traces the history of the house recently demolished at the northeast corner of First and Wheeler. Dr. Flecher Green Sanborn, the first doctor in Arcadia, bought the house in 1919 (original owner unknown).
