Arcadia High School's Constitution Team won the state championship in February and is now competing in the 23rd annual "We are the People: the Citizen and the Constitution National Finals" in Washington D.C. Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert's horse Gabby's Golden Gal (owned by Arnold Zetcher) won the Santa Monica Handicap at Santa Anita Park. The jockey was Martin Garcia.
Arcadia High School and University of Southern California graduate Bruce Matthews was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, on Saturday, August 4, 2007. He played for the Houston Oilers and Tennessee Titans.
2023 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade's Rose Court profiled with their hobbies. Sahanna Rajinikanthan, one of the Royal Court, is from Arcadia and enjoys baking. She made it to the state championship for the VEX Robotics Competition and enjoys volunteering as a singing coach in the language of Araneri, passing on her Indian culture to her students.
Kate Linder, an actress on television soap opera The Young and the Restless, got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was raised in Arcadia and graduated from Arcadia High School. Her parents are Ralph and Molly Wolveck. She also keeps a job as a flight attendant.
A weeklong science camp was held at Rio Hondo Preparatory School for first through fifth grade students. The camp is sponsored by the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation.
Hall of Fame jockey and Sierra Madre resident Gary Stevens is doing well after a fall that injured his lung and shoulders at the Arlington Million. Stevens, in his first acting role, starred as George "The Iceman" Woolf in the Universal film, Seabiscuit. Stevens has won the Santa Anita Derby.
Nine year old Karen Spurney of Arcadia won in her age group in the 47th annual "Search for Talent Competition" sponsored by the National Exchange Club. She played a rendition of Bach on the piano.
Susan Gulkis, an eighth grade honor student at Foothill Junior High School in Arcadia is an accomplished violinist. Currently concertmistress of the Pasadena Youth Symphony and the Foothills Junior High orchestra, she will be featured soloist in a "Symphony for Youth" concert sponsored by the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Friends and family of former Arcadia City Clerk Christine Van Maanen gathered at Live Oak Memorial Park to pay their last respects. Her exact date of birth is not known, but she is believed to have been 86-88 years old when she died.

Arcadia Public Library garden dedicated to the memory of Jesse Vanlandingham, known to many as Van. He was instrumental in founding the Arcadia Public Library Foundation and served as its president since its inception in 1995, until his death in 2000. The Vandlandingham Memorial Garden was designed by landscape architect Bob Ericksson.
