Arcadia-based Software Technologies Corp. is introducing a new computer software product that allows hospitals and other health-care networks to access medical and patient information via the Internet.
On behalf of the Arcadia Redevelopment Agency, Mayor Gilb accepted a check for $250,000 from Hometel of America Corporation. This is the first of several payments toward the purchase of the property at the northeast corner of Second Ave. and Huntington Dr.

Dick Hale, a Bradbury councilman and CEO of development firm Hale Corporation, is proposing a four-story medical office building on the southern portion of the Santa Anita Park race track parking lot. It would be a joint venture with the race track's owner, The Stronach Group. It would create probably 300 jobs. Waken Development L.L.C. breaks ground on a two building lowrise office complex in Arcadia at Santa Clara Street and Fifth Avenue.Completion scheduled for June, 2002. Hale Corporation is a partner in the project and will serve as design/build contractor.
The Arcadia City Council has decided to seek a new operator for the Arcadia Par 3 Golf Course, located adjacent to the Peck Road Water Conservation Park, at the city's border south of Live Oak Avenue, by putting the contract up for bid. American Golf Corporation has operated the golf course for the past 20 years. There was discussion of the land's worth and increased city profits with a new golf course operator.
Granada Royale Hometel is interested in building a $10 million hotel at the northeast corner of Second Avenue and Huntington Drive, according to Mike Lloyd, a consultant to Republic Development Company.
