A curriculum change instituted by the Arcadia Board of Education means there will be 10 more science classes offered in September for Arcadia High School students.
Each year, Richard Onderdonk's archeology class conducts a dig on the high school campus. They attempt to duplicate the work done by professional archaeologists. Their efforts so far have yielded few artifacts.

Arcadia High School chemistry teacher George Stapleton's Advanced Placement chemistry class won first place in the Southern California Chemical Society Competition.
The Arcadia High School Apache Marching Band won the Sweepstakes Award at the annual state championship All-Western Band Review for the third consecutive year which earns them the perpetual trophy. This makes the third time they have won the perpetual trophy which goes to a school that has won the Sweepstakes Award three times in a row. This is a "first" in the All-Western Band Review.
Since October 1975 a committee of citizens, teachers and
administrators have been studying requirements for graduation from high school. They recommend raising the units needed to graduate from 160 to 170. The School Board will vote on this proposal on April 14.
About 800 Arcadia High School students walked out of classes and gathered on the library lawn to demonstrate support for their teachers and to protest the cancellation of the senior assembly, an annual high school tradition.
