Article gives distribution to cities and counties of state cigarette, "in-lieu" motor vehicle license fees, and highway users tax. Arcadia received $17,778 of the cigarette tax, and $44,798 of the other fees.
Arcadia city officials have approved across-the-board fee increases that are expected to generate $500,000 in revenue this year. Parking tickets will go up from an average of $40 to $50. Other fees going up include building permits, towing fees, business license fees, water, street, and engineering services.
The Arcadia City Council will decide on an ordinance to regulate massage therapy. Provisions will regulate massage therapists, practitioners or technicians, and require them to have identification cards from the police and a business license. The ordinance contains other restrictions.

By a 6 to 1 vote the Planning Commission on May 24 approved a new zone: R-M (single-family mountainous residential). The proposed ordinance will need to go before the City Council for adoption.
