Two Arcadia Unified School District schools earn California Distinguished School honors--Holly Avenue Elementary School and Longley Way Elementary School.
The top ten San Gabriel Valley high school baseball teams will compete in the Arcadia Elks Tournament starting tomorrow. The top ten includes teams from Arcadia High School, Alhambra High School, Monrovia High School, Maranatha High School, St. Francis High School, Temple City High School, Gabrielino High School, San Marino High School, South Pasadena High School, and La Canada High School. John B. Simmons, principal of Continuation High School, will be honored by the school district for his efforts in developing and administrating the Continuation High School program. Simmons' background and the school's program are discussed.

Ernest "Cal" Ford recently retired after 27 years of driving a school bus for Arcadia School District. Ford is a second generation school bus driver. His father drove a school bus for Arcadia in the 1930's.

It recognizes a school and/or school district for taking an innovative, proactive approach to reimagining teaching, learning, and important school services during the pandemic, where California schools saw State-mandated distance learning for the 2020-2021 school year. Arcadia Unified School District and Holly Avenue Elementary received CAPP honors.
Arcadia Unified School District revives middle school athletics. In 1995, the middle school sports program was dismantled when the district transitioned junior high to the middle school model (6th-8th grades), then the focus veered heavily toward academics. On December 3, 2015, First Avenue Middle School faced off with Dana Middle School for the first time in two decades.
