15. Westfield Santa Anita mall sells for $537.5 million. The mall is part of French-based Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield's (URW) continued unloading of assets in the United States. The deal is the largest for a mall in the U.S. since 2018. The property at 400 South Baldwin Avenue, now known as The Shops at Santa Anita is 1.48 million square feet and nearly 100% leased. URW acquired the Santa Anita mall in 2018 as part of its $15.7 billion acquisition of Australia-based Westfield, which had owned and operated the mall since 2007. The environmental impact report (EIR) for the proposed Shops at Santa Anita is now available. The report must be reviewed by the City Council before the development can be built. The report includes traffic studies of certain intersections and the economic effect on Westfield Shoppingtown.
