The City Council unanimously approved a zone change that would prohibit future lot splits in the Lower Rancho Area. The revision increased the minimum lot size from 15,000 to 20,000 square feet.
Pending approval of the Arcadia City Council, guest houses on Arcadia properties will be limited to 600 square feet and will not be allowed to be combined with other accessory buildings.

The D stands for "design overlay," which gives the property owners' association an opportunity to review architectural plans for development.
Mr. McCaslin received a blow to his plan to subdivide the 20 acre parcel when the Planning Commission changed the zoning in the area from R-1 (7,500 square feet per unit) to R-O (30,000 square feet per unit).
Arcadia planning commission has given preliminary approval to a request to operate a residential recovery center for women battling alcoholism. The Spencer Recovery Center would be located at 180 West Huntington Drive.
