The Realty Board has announced the following endorsements for the City Council election in April: Floretta Lauber; Charles Gilb; Irvin Livingston; Reuben Ruiz.
Elections for 3 City Council seats will be held on April 11, 1978. The seats are currently held by Floretta Lauber, Charles Gilb and Jack Saelid. The filing period is January 12 - February 2.
Tuesday April 9, 1974 Arcadians will vote for 3 City Council Vacancies. Running are: Jerry Bernstein, David E. Parry, Charles E. Gilb, Reuben M. Ruiz, Jay Kingry, Thomas D. Ryan, Floretta A. Lauber, Jack Saelid, Irvin Livingston, May Secrest, Bruce E. Moore, Terryll Siverston, John C. Mynster, William E. Weiss
James Helms' City Council seat will be "up for grabs" as the city Charter prohibits more than 2 consecutive terms. Also, Dr. Alton Scott's seat will be available as he has announced that he will not seek re-election. Candidates may pick up nomination papers on January 15 and must file by noon on February 5 for the April election.
Mrs. Johanna Hofer has declared that she will be a write-in candidate for the April 19 School Board election. A vocal critic of the Board, she expressed her views on the issues.
Councilman Charles Gilb believes businesses all important. He is a candidate for re-election for Arcadia City Council. See hard copy of newspaper in Box 51.
Filing opens December 26 for candidates for three seats on the School Board. The seats up for re-election are: Lewis May - just completed his first 4 year term; George Frempter - 8 years; Gloria Horstman - appointed to fill the vacancy created by the death of Gary Mills. The election will be held April 5.
