Arcadia City Council declared March 6 to be Matt McSweeny Day in Arcadia and the Santa Anita Park Race Track has also named a special day, to be determined by McSweeny, to be "Matt McSweeny Day" at the race track.
Tallest building in Arcadia sells for $25.6 million. It has been sold to Positive Investments, Inc. by Farazian Family Trust. It has 8 floors, anchored by Bank of America. Another tenant is former Arcadia City Mayor Jim Helms of Helms & Myers, a law firm. Bank of America is 180 N. Santa Anita Avenue, Helms & Myers is at 150 N. Santa Anita Avenue, Suite 685.
Downtown Arcadia businesses create "Community Benefit District." Each business owner would pay extra in property taxes to go into a fund to better market the area to customers and visitors. With the Gold Line Station at North First Avenue and East Santa Clara Street scheduled to open in 2015, efforts to help brand the area have been fast-tracked.
Denny's windmill spins again. The windmill atop Denny's at northeast corner of Santa Anita Avenue and Huntington Drive was designed by Harold Bissner as the template for Van de Kamp's Holland Dutch Bakery's coffee shop franchise. It opened in 1967 in Arcadia, the first of 15 built from his designs. Denny's bought the location in 1989. Denny's spent $100,000 refurbishing the windmill.

The windmill had been previously restored and reactivated on June 29, 2016. About $100,000 was spent refurbishing it at that time.

Less than a year after it detached and crashed into the restaurant, the windmill atop the Arcadia Denny’s is spinning again at the northeast corner of Huntington Drive and Santa Anita Avenue. Iconic Denny's windmill in Arcadia makes a grand slam through the roof. George Fasching says plans to rebuild are already underway. On Friday, December 29, 2017, the iconic landmark fell off and one blade sliced through the restaurant around 7:30 AM. The restaurant and windmill were originally built in 1967 as a Van de Kamp's Restaurant.
Denny’s colorful windmill lights up Arcadia’s holiday spirits. The blades have been carefully fabricated and the official “turn-on” took place Friday, November 30. It now runs counterclockwise, 24-hours a day with LED lights. The restaurant used to be Van De Kamp’s.

Matt Denny’s Alehouse Restaurant will be appearing with new owner Long Nguyen, and Claro’s Italian Market (a staple of Arcadia since 1948), Mt. Lowe Brewery, Vendome Wine & Spirits, and Villa Catrina will be participating.
