The Board of H.O.Y. has decided to close the Temple City branch counseling offices July 1, 1977 due to a lack of funds. The Temple City Council failed to appropriate the $5000 needed to deep the facility open.
Both the teachers and the Arcadia Board of Education ratified an existing contract, with some changes agreed upon by all involved. Salaries were excluded from discussion due to Prop. 13. The contract extends through June 30, 1980.
The Boy's Christian League will not be permitted to distribute literature through the schools unless the Arcadia School Board changes its policy. National organizations such as the Scouts, the YWCA and the YMCA now have this permission.
The Children's Room will be completely refurbished - partly with city funds and partly from a drive headed by Mayor Charles Gilb. It will be renamed the Jerry Broadwell Children's Library as a memorial to Fire Captain Jerry Broadwell who died in a fire in August 1975.
