An Arcadia man with a rare neurological condition, David Ireland has authored a book entitled "Letter to an Unborn Child." These reflect compassion and understanding and were written to his child in the event he did not live.
Announced candidates for City Council as of January 13, 1974 are: Irvin I. Livingston; Thomas D. Ryan; David E. Parry. Seven others have also taken out papers. Three incumbents (Bob Arth, Ed Butterworth, and Don Hage) must retire.
Arcadia Board of Education candidates addressed the questions of teacher proficiency, curriculum, censorship and tenure at a forum sponsored by the American Association of University Women and the Arcadia League of Women Voters. Candidates attending the forum were Robert Harris, Marilyn Perkins, Mary Dougherty, David Strauss and William Spuck.
The Arcadia Police Department, along with several company agencies, is investigating the Pat Hillings Travel Agency in Arcadia, now owned by David Pressman. The alleged fraud reportedly involved the sale of airline tickets by the agency.
Arcadia resident Linda Baum will serve as the Grand Marshall for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses equestrian unit. Baum will ride her 17-year-old pinto, Royal Warrior.
