At the City Planning Commission's General Plan Update meeting on April 29, 1996, an announcement was made that Santa Anita Realty had withdrawn its application for development of an entertainment center.
The AUSD Governing Board has announced the appointment of Robert J. Leri as the new Director of Information Services, a position which plays a major role in implementing Arcadia's district-wide comprehensive Technology Plan.
City Council has directed staff to Begin the process of placing a General Obligation Bond Issue on the Nov. 2, 1999 ballot. If approved, the bond issue will be used to partially fund construction of a new police station.
On Wednesday, April 10, the planning commission met in what was to be their first meeting to discuss and review certain aspects of the General Plan Update for 1996. Approximately 200 people crowded the council chamber and the meeting was declared a safety hazard. The rescheduled meeting will be held at the community center.
