New El Rancho Building, a 2-story store and office affair, located at 1200 W. Huntington Drive, is nearing completion, with occupancy expected in March. Rancho Santa Anita, Inc. are the owners of the new building. Architect is Rowland H. Crawford.
Egner Construction Company of Gardena will starting building second apartment in the city on West Huntington Drive. Earlier in January, the Egner Company took out a permit for a 21-unit apartment on Fairview Avenue. See hard copy of newspaper in Box 51.
Mike Vallone's proposed high-rise apartment project for Huntington Drive will be built under the strictest controls possible, as prescribed by City Council.
A multi-story medical building is being planned for the old library site at the corner of First and Wheeler. An excellent history and background of the old library is given.
A new office building is being constructed on the corner of Huntington and Indiana. It will occupy the site of the old service station run for man years by William Stockman, but which has been closed for some time.
