Arcadia-based Falcon Management Co. owner Robert Forsting agreed to a Star-Tribune interview concerning complaints from customers in Valley cities and Los Angeles. Mr. Forsting said he's had to fire employees who have made mistakes, and the Arcadia Police Department has taken the unusual step of advising those customers to file a class action lawsuit.
The Arcadia City Council has approved an ordinance to upgrade the recycling efforts of commercial haulers in the city. The ordinance decreases the number of permitted commercial haulers in the city to 3. The ordinance adds language to clarify how recycling diversion is calculated, and requires free recycling containers and public education.
Arcadia City Manager Bill Kelly, 58, is leaving his job to be a consultant in the private sector. He feels it is time to leave because many of the projects he had overseen in recent years have been completed or are on track to be completed.

David Tran, the owner of Huy Fong Foods (makers of Sriracha hot chili sauce), defends his factory, saying, "We don't make tear gas here." Superior Court judge Robert H. O'Brien on Tuesday, ordered Huy Fong Foods, Inc. to cease operations believed to be causing a smell that the City of Irwindale said has created a "public nuisance" and immediately changes to mitigate the odor. David Tran, CEO and founder, is an Arcadia resident.
Diners line up to get last meal at Rod's Grill in Arcadia. Restaurant that has served generations of people closes on Sunday (yesterday). Hundreds of diners made a final pilgrimage to Rod's Grill in Arcadia at 41 W. Huntington Drive, along Historic Route 66. Rod Wellman started the restaurant in 1946 in Alhambra. The Arcadia location opened in 1957 offering 10 cent coffees and 40 cent slices of pie a la mode. Wellman's sons Barry and Brian took over years later, then Manny Romero bought it about 25 years ago and kept its vintage vibe. Romero was an immigrant from Mexico. He died in 2021.
