City of Arcadia continuing Concerts and Movies in the Park Series with an event every Thursday from June 23 through August 4 at 240 West Huntington Drive, on the lawn between Arcadia City Hall and Arcadia Police Department. This Thursday's concert will be performed by The Smokin' Cobras, followed by the movie Mulan.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger restores funding to Parks & Recreation. The budget will resume community pool operations in Arcadia, Granada Hills, Altadena, Littlerock, Quartz Hill and Castaic.
Half Day After School Camp Offered at Two Arcadia Elementary Schools.
As the 2020-2021 school year begins, Arcadia Recreation and Community Services Department will be offering a half day after school camp that will follow approved modifications by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. These guidelines are subject to change, based on the local protocols related to COVID-19 and will be sent out to parents at registration.
The half day after school camp will be offered at Baldwin Stocker Elementary School and Camino Grove Elementary School from 1-5 p.m. beginning Aug. 24. Registration is $92 per week and will open on a monthly basis. Camp will still offer a variety of organized recreational activities for ages 5-12, led by trained activity leaders. Registration is now open for camp taking place Aug. 24 – Oct. 2 online at ArcadiaCA.gov/recreation.
Arcadia offers virtual recreation classes this fall. Stay active, stay enriched, and learn new things all from the comfort of your own home this fall by joining a virtual class. Classes are available for all ages and interests including Zumba, soccer, video game design, piano, art, and more.

Arcadia Teen Night will take place at Dana Middle School Gym, 1401 S. First Avenue. Fee is $8 and includes pizza dinner. Teens will play indoor games such as dodgeball, volleyball, video games, and basketball.
A study session before the Arcadia City Council regarding recreational vehicles (RVs) will take place November 20, 2012 at 5:30 PM at Arcadia City Hall.
Recreation classes and programs for Arcadia residents will be increased for everyone except senior citizens under a new fee schedule adopted by the City Council.
"The proposed Skateboard Park for Arcadia young people is moving closer to a reality," said City Manager Bill Kelly. Currently, the project is on the capital improvements list for $300,000 and the preferred location is Bonita Park.
Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Proposition A funds will be used to re-do the Civic Center athletic field and light more soccer fields. The City Council also adopted a five-year capital budget.
