U.S. Post Office, Arcadia branch. Located at 41 E. Wheeler Avenue. Photo taken from parking lot in front of Post Office. This was taken before it was damaged in the Sierra Madre earthquake and subsequently remodeled.

Post Office is largest building in center of the block on north side of Wheeler Avenue. Large white area is parking area for Santa Anita Park Race Track.

Historic building at 314 North First Avenue. Built in 1928, originally an office of Southern California Gas Company. "Southern Counties Gas Company" is engraved over the entrance, with striped awnings, bricks, and occupant's sign "Serar & Associates Architect" in the window. Pat Carlin is the small boy standing with the tire in front of service station owned and operated by his father and his aunt, J.A. and M.A. Carlin on the NE corner of First and LaPorte. This building is the same one as shown in photo #490 and which served briefly as City Hall.
