View north on First Avenue just north of Santa Fe Railroad Tracks. Graves Drug Store on right with a bank next to it. The two story building on SW corner of St. Joseph Street and First was McCoy Building. According to information given by Stu Henderson, current owner of King Pharmacy, the history of Graves Drug Store is as follows: Originally it was opened by Oscar Seaquist, later bought by Walter A. Graves. Some years later it was bought by R.B. and R.B. Bagnall Jr. (circa 1940's) and was relocated to 54 E. Huntington Drive. By 1950 the City directory listed it as owned by A.P.King and has been known by that name since.

Looking west on Duarte Road near intersection with Baldwin Avenue. Ericsson's Pharmacy is listed at 1201 S. Baldwin. West Arcadia Public Market was owned by Mr. C.M. Knott and was located at 1203 S. Baldwin. The new building under construction here on S.E. corner apparently at 1200 S. Baldwin was for the Bank of Italy National Trust & Savings according to 1928 City Directory.

American Lutheran Church, then at 1424 S. Baldwin, which was later home of Serbian Orthodox Church. Building was dedicated Nov. 12, 1939, enlarged in 1945 and sold in 1963 to Serbian Orthodox, when Lutheran congregation's new church was built on Duarte Road.

View west of bungalow with chimney on east side. In 1939 City Directory, this was called Ivy Cottage Restaurant, at 22 E. Foothill. In 1931-32 City Directory, listed as Gansers Ltd. - Preserves. This was the first time this address showed in the city directory, so building apparently dates to 1930. Last business to use it was the Copy Cat custom dress design shop.

White Oak Service Station located on SW corner of Foothill Boulevard and Santa Anita Avenue. View probably is looking east across Santa Anita toward large barn that must have been on southeast corner. Owner Emil Bolz is pictured standing in front of his station. He not only sold auto products but ice cream, tobaccos, cold drinks, etc. The address listed in 1928 City Directory is 2 W. Foothill.

O.D. Harris home on NE corner, 15 E. Orange Avenue (later street name changed to 15 Colorado Blvd). It is listed in 1928 City Directory as on Orange Avenue address. House was demolished about 1960*. Twenty people standing and sitting in front of house, gathered for a McCoy family reunion.[*The house stood until 1962 according to description of photo ID 1029. Noted 7/25/2011.]

Pictured is clapboard, flat roofed garage with Arcadia Garage sign in view. It is believed to be what was called the Hibbard Building where City Hall offices were housed for a brief time. It was later converted to a garage by Walter Schrader. A small unidentified boy stands near what looks like a 1920's Model T.
