Lima Hotel -- Still standing on Lima Street in Sierra Madre, this Victorian style hotel built in 1887 was converted to a convalescent home. (In 1954 it was used in the film, "The Seven Little Foys," starring Bob Hope.)

View toward east at Eaton's Restaurant which was located at 1130 W. Colorado Blvd. (almost at border of Pasadena). In addition to a sit-down dining room, it had an extensive drive-in area, as well as motel accommodations. It opened in 1939.

Aerial view, of the white A-Frame roof of Santa Anita Church (address is 226 West Colorado Boulevard, Arcadia, California). A six-sided, hexagon building near Santa Anita Church is the Fireside Room and Fellowship Hall, which is part of the Santa Anita Church. The church property goes all the way to Colorado Place (including "The Village Apartments," formerly the Frontier Motel, which the church purchased in 1972) and includes the parking lot and the building at the top of the photo, the Margaret Stevens Center. Any use of this image must be credited "Photograph by David Stevens. Copyright David Stevens."

Dewey Butler's Sweet Corn Stand is shown next to the Santa Anita Motor Inn, which opened in 1938. There are four cars parked in front of the stand. Hand written note in scrapbook states, "Dewey Butler's - Golden Bantam Corn, and Melon Stand on Huntington Drive just west of the Santa Anita Motor Inn. The Sweetest corn and melon's you ever tasted, grown in the matchless soil of Old Rancho Santa Anita."

Flamingo Hotel/Motel at 130 W. Huntington, built about 1956 or 1957. Part of Ramada Inn chain. Before it was the Flamingo, the Pony Express Museum was at this address. The Flamingo Hotel (Ramada) stayed here 1955-c. 1984. It reopened as the Santa Anita Inn on February 8, 1986. On the same site, the Le Meridien Hotel, part of the Marriott chain, broke ground in June 2018 and opened in 2021.
