Hugo Reid Adobe showing E.J."Lucky" Baldwin addition on left side of photo and original adobe with tile roof on right side of photo. There is a sign and a bench on right side of photo, and many trees.
View east across concrete reservoir toward lake on Baldwin Ranch and beyond to mountains. Hugo Reid Adobe should be in trees directly under white-looking plowed field on right center part of photo. White buildings center left not identified.
The library does not have a print of this negative. A print of this appears on p.8 of WHERE RANCH AND CITY MEET. It is a pen and ink drawing of Don Perfecto Hugo Reid and Indian laborers, drawn by Maynard Dixon.
Aerial view due south from a position almost directly over sharp curve of Colorado Street. Showing in this photo are the Track and Club House on a day of large attendance, the stables, and a training track. All along Huntington Drive and Colorado Street young trees have been planted. Old-time resident Reid Greer says that the large tree at the very left edge of photo about 2 1/2 in. from bottom is same tree as seen in photo #654, on flat ground just below knolls seen here, and therefore he places homes of Indians on ranch at this spot. E.J."Lucky" Baldwin winery is only building seen on knoll. There is an "x" on reverse side to mark location. This photo belongs to the Huntington Library. It is shown here for research only.
Harry Ainsworth Ranch, upper grove looking north to mountains. Present day Highland Oaks School would be located about where trees block the end of the row of citrus trees.
Exterior view of the back of brand new City of Arcadia Community Center. The middle grassy area is the future location of the Hugo Reid and Family statue. Community Center is at 365 Campus Drive.
View taken from Colorado Blvd. of the Santa Anita Santa Fe Station which was located beside tracks near Old Ranch Road. (It was later moved to the grounds of the Arboretum.) There are 10 palm trees in photo.
Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin standing on porch of Hugo Reid Adobe holding hand of granddaughter Dextra Baldwin, who appears to be about 5 years old. Grandson Baldwin M. Baldwin is in wicker baby carriage and is about 1 1/2 or 2 years old.
View east from a point a bit south of photo #220. Note chimney of Hugo Reid Adobe just to right of large tree trunk. Note Glass house located to right in photo. This photograph belongs to the Huntington Library. It is shown here for research only.
Full length view of Hugo Reid Family statue (Reid, wife Victoria Reid, and two children) at Arcadia County Park. Swings are in the background. This was before the statue was moved to the Gilb Museum. Photograph by Terry Miller.
View looking south down Santa Anita Ave. from a point just where road starts up toward Chantry Flats. Note that eucalyptus trees have been removed from Santa Anita and present plantings are still very small. As of 1980, houses fill land shown in foreground of the photo.
