Description: Sierra Madre Villa -- Built in the 1870s by William P. Rhoades who moved from Los Angeles when his wife became ill, "the Villa" became a convalescent hotel, famous for its "fine table" (pheasant, quail, trout), and was the midday-meal stop on the Grand Round.
