Large stone Maltese Cross erected on the Baldwin Ranch by Anita Baldwin, marking graves of the four American Derby winners owned by her father, Elias J."Lucky" Baldwin. The cross and horse's graves are now situated at the Santa Anita Race Track. There is a sign with all details of horses' names and races won.

Duarte Road, is partly visible on the right corner. The Bow & Arrow Grill at 11 W. Duarte Road is seen just west of the Chevron station. Both businesses are listed in the 1955 City Directory.

Standing beside buggy is an unidentified young man. Other mounted horsemen, black as well as white, are shown on track. This was taken at Baldwin's training track which was adjacent to present Michillinda near Colorado Boulevard. Etched on photo is: "E.J. Baldwin and J. McClelland on the track - Santa Anieta." (Anieta is misspelled and should be Anita.)

Santa Anita School Mrs. Rutherford's fifth grade classroom photo by Thompson Photo Service, Los Angeles (from the envelope which has been discarded). The school was located at 1900 South Santa Anita Avenue from about 1950 until June, 1981. In 1982, Arcadia Christian School moved in to this location. Winners of the Bicycle Rodeo, an event sponsored by Arcadia Police Department and Arcadia Recreation Department, from left to right: Albert Schneider (winner boys 8-14 year old group), Bruce Frazier (winner boys 8 and under), Juanita Curti (winner girls 14 and under), Betsy Bosil (winner girls 8 and under). Pictured behind the children left to right are Police Chief William Orr and Patrolman William Goodman. The Bicycle Rodeo was a contest in bicycle safety and riding skill. Winners received nighttime riding lights and electric horns. The awards were the culmination of bicycle safety instruction offered at Arcadia playgrounds throughout the summer by William Goodman. A similar version of this photograph appeared in Arcadia Tribune, p. 6, August 23, 1956.
