Fire station across which is painted ENGINE #2. Parked in front is one fire truck with 2 firemen. Standing to left of engine are 3 firemen. Car parked at rear of station appears to be late 1930's model. Address 1420 S. Baldwin Avenue.
Group of youngsters, some wearing firemen's gear, in front of Fire Station at 50 Wheeler St. apparently on a tour of the facilities. The following is information from Dave Haney, Battalion Chief/Training Officer of the Arcadia Fire Department at 630 S. Baldwin, provided via email on November 18, 2007 : "The pumper in this photo was called 'Squad,' and was a Class B pumper, which means the fire pump is much smaller than the ones we have today (2007). It is a Mack with a 750 gallon per minute fire pump and a 400 gallon water tank. It ran as Engine 1 out of the Wheeler Station. When Wheeler Station closed, it was moved over to the Santa Anita Fire Station until she was retired. So far there has been some confusion over the year of manufacture of the pumper. Some old timers tell me either a 1943, 1944, or 1947."

About 12 girls in white are seen walking across the lawn at front of First Avenue School (Arcadia Grammar School at this time, 1935). They have garlands of flowers over their shoulders to commemorate their graduation from 8th grade. Photo is also interesting because construction scaffolding is across front of school.

Arcadia Presbyterian Church at NE corner of First and Alice Streets prior to building new sanctuary in early 1970's. (Discrepancy in date of "c.1965." Per Teri Weeks, a long-time church member, this church building was torn down in 1961 and new sanctuary was built in 1962, so this photo was probably 1950s.
Baldwin M. Baldwin and Dextra Baldwin, view from the back, standing in grass. Baldwin has large straw hat on and appears to be age 2 or 3. Both have on what appears to be rompers and high buttoned shoes. Dextra may be age 6 or 7. Apparently taken at Baldwin Ranch.
Aerial view looking south over Santa Anita Race Track on a day of very heavy attendance. The floral plantings which form designs in the in-field are shown clearly. Also seen are: the clubhouse, the stables, and the training track. These latter were either moved or done away with to make way for the Fashion Park. Main gate was at NE corner of Huntington Drive and Baldwin, which was not cut through at that time. This photo belongs to the Huntington Library. It is shown here for research only.
