View (we do not known which direction camera is looking) of Goodyear blimp VOLUNTEER when it stopped at Ross Field Balloon School. About 11 people seen to be gathered near it. On right side of photo is a long barracks-like building.
A group of Japanese evacuees at the Santa Anita Assembly Center for the Japanese has gathered to watch a baseball game with both men and women on the teams. The west end of the Santa Anita Race Track Club House is seen in the background.
These two long buildings appear to be buildings at the Balloon School. They have been left from the time that "Lucky" Baldwin's Santa Anita Race Track was on this site. There is considerable snow on San Gabriel Mountains behind.
Looking east over barracks and main building at Ross Field. Tree-lined street cutting across photo at far side of field is Santa Anita Avenue. The oval of the race track built by E.J."Lucky" Baldwin and which opened in 1907 can clearly be seen on right. Broad E/W street seen on far left is Huntington Drive.
Senior citizens and children playing shuffleboard in back of the Arcadia Community Center. The shuffleboard area is gone now. The Museum Education Center, built in 2014, is using that space now.
Arcadia Presbyterian Church at NE corner of First and Alice Streets prior to building new sanctuary in early 1970's. (Discrepancy in date of "c.1965." Per Teri Weeks, a long-time church member, this church building was torn down in 1961 and new sanctuary was built in 1962, so this photo was probably 1950s.
Large stone Maltese Cross erected on the Baldwin Ranch by Anita Baldwin, marking graves of the four American Derby winners owned by her father, Elias J."Lucky" Baldwin. The cross and horse's graves are now situated at the Santa Anita Race Track. There is a sign with all details of horses' names and races won.

Aerial view looking south over Santa Anita Race Track on a day of very heavy attendance. The floral plantings which form designs in the in-field are shown clearly. Also seen are: the clubhouse, the stables, and the training track. These latter were either moved or done away with to make way for the Fashion Park. Main gate was at NE corner of Huntington Drive and Baldwin, which was not cut through at that time. This photo belongs to the Huntington Library. It is shown here for research only.
Exterior view of the brand new City of Arcadia Community Center, and its sign reading "City of Arcadia Community Center, Recreation Department, Historical Museum, Senior Services." Community Center is at 365 Campus Drive.
About ten thoroughbreds and jockeys, round turn toward finish of a race at Santa Anita Park. San Gabriel Mountains loom up behind. One can tell that this is early years of the track because of the dust kicked up by horses. Later, track was completely excavated and new improved mixture was put in place.
