In this aerial view looking toward the east, the oval directly in the center of photo was a training track belonging to Santa Anita. This was removed to make room for the Fashion Park mall. The small circular track across what is now Baldwin Avenue and the oval track farther south belonged to a private riding stable. The remains of the Los Angeles Jockey Club Track which Joe Smoot and Anita Baldwin started but did not complete in 1933, can be seen in lower right corner. This photo belongs to the Huntington Library. It is shown here for research only.

Northwest intersection of Baldwin Avenue and Duarte Road. Businesses just west of the corner at 713 West Duarte Road are Active Hair, Mail Boxes Etc., Sakana Seafood, Tender Loving Care TLC Realty & Mortgage, Hit's Coffee & Tea, Every Green Books. Looks like a gas station (boarded up) had been at the NW corner. The address 735 W. Duarte Road is apparent on one building. Photograph by Terry Miller.

View of intersection of Baldwin Avenue and Duarte Road. Service station on the NE corner was owned by Mr. Renshaw. There is a two story house just north of station. There has been a recent snow fall in the San Gabriel Mountains. Home to the north is F.E. Grote home.
