Forty firefighters battle apartment fire in Arcadia in the 600 block of Windsor Road. The fire appeared accidental. Two units were damaged with an estimated fire loss of $50,000 in contents and $25,000 to the structure.
Twenty-six modular structures at the United States Forest Service (U.S.F.S.) site, located in the 700 block of North Santa Anita Avenue, were destroyed by fire on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in the early morning. There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters. Preliminary findings indicate the cause of the fire was accidental.

Arcadia opens first Veterans' Administration (VA) clinic in the San Gabriel Valley area in eight years, called the Interim San Gabriel Valley Community Based Outpatient Clinic, located at 7 West Foothill Boulevard, Arcadia. It is called interim because this is a temporary location. This is a branch of the West Los Angeles VA Hospital. Arcadia Methodist Hospital sponsors a free community open house on September 17 to celebrate the upcoming opening of its new patient tower. The hospital is at 300 West Huntington Drive in Arcadia. Related story on page 14.
Arcadia City Council voted to weed private properties. The motion allowed the Council to direct the Los Angeles County Agricultural Commission to remove "weeds, brush, rubbish and refuse from various private properties" within Arcadia. The council's aim was to remove flammable and noxious material. It is a fire prevention method and a way to fight blight.
135 marijuana plants found in Arcadia home on the 500 block of West Huntington Drive. The suspect arrested is Tiv Ke Roeung, 40 year old Arcadia resident. He is being held without bail by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency.
41-year-old female Xiaolin Li, a resident of Arcadia, was stabbed and murdered on January 7, 2014 at an apartment in the 900 block of Arcadia Avenue. The arrested suspect was identified as the victim's father-in-law Li Zhu, a 68-year-old resident of Arcadia. The motive appears to be related to an on-going dispute within the family. The victim and suspect resided together.

Monrovia man David King Brewster has been charged with attempted murder of a peace officer, as he became combative and began fighting with two Arcadia police officers for no apparent reason, on July 6, 2015 in the 400 block of East Huntington Drive. Brewster may have been under the influence of a controlled substance. He punched one officer in the face and choked the other officer in an attempt to use cause serious or fatal injury to him.
