Showing in this photo are the Track and Club House on a day of large attendance, the stables, and a training track. All along Huntington Drive and Colorado Street young trees have been planted. Old-time resident Reid Greer says that the large tree at the very left edge of photo about 2 1/2 in. from bottom is same tree as seen in photo #654, on flat ground just below knolls seen here, and therefore he places homes of Indians on ranch at this spot. History of Taste of Arcadia, the Chamber of Commerce event. It takes place September 24 this year at Los Angeles County Arboretum. Traditionally held the last Monday in September, each year the event grows in popularity. Taste of Arcadia began as the Wine Shed Mixer to raise money for Arcadia Tournament of Roses Association.
The library does not have a print of this negative. A print appears on p.35 of WHERE RANCH AND CITY MEET. The negative was reproduced from a deck of Baldwin playing cards. This one portrays the Baldwin Winery. Printed along the bottom are the words THE WINERY.

New development and businesses in Downtown Arcadia. The Metro Gold Line train has brought renewed success and energy to Downtown Arcadia. A mixed-use project near the Gold Line's Arcadia station will include over 16,000 square feet of commercial space, 38 residential units, and 110 new parking spaces are under construction, as is a 4,000 square foot Art Deco style office building at 130 S. First Avenue. Last year, Mr. Lowe Brewing Co. opened Arcadia's first microbrewery and in July, Vendome Wine & Spirits opened at 103 E. Santa Clara St. Article by Mayor Peter Amundson.
Officials deport wine con man Rudy Kurniawan, who bilked collectors out of millions of dollars. He is back in Indonesia. He was putting less expensive Napa and Burgundy wines into counterfeit bottles at his home in Arcadia.

Restaurants in Downtown Arcadia will participate in the Chamber of Commerce event “2018 Taste of Arcadia” at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden on September 24. Matt Denny’s Alehouse Restaurant will be appearing with new owner Long Nguyen, and Claro’s Italian Market (a staple of Arcadia since 1948), Mt. Lowe Brewery, Vendome Wine & Spirits, and Villa Catrina will be participating.

Winery (brick portion of building) built according to Lupe Cuellar, in 1876. Shed built of wood was added later and converted to carpentry shop for Santa Anita Race Track. Winery was located on low hills just north of present race track building.
