Eaton's Santa Anita Hotel and Restaurant is still seen at far end of curve on south side of Colorado Boulevard and Michillinda Avenue (this is present site of Coco's Restaurant and Oak Tree Banquet Room, formerly Reuben's Restaurant, address 1150 W. Aerial view of large group of people, many on horses, apparently taking part in either an informal rodeo, or possibly a horse sale. This appears to be intersection of Las Tunas and Temple City Blvd. Building seen at top of photo is probably Vernon's Pharmacy of Temple City, located on NW corner of this intersection. There is a companion photo to this photo, #643. Vera Van Iaawarden, who lives in Temple City, says her father believes this was a balloon ascension.
Aerial view of what appears to be either an informal horse show or possible horse sale with a great number of people in attendance. The location has been identified as near intersection of Las Tunas Drive and (with what seem to be railroad tracks in center) Temple City Boulevard. The building (we see only roof) in the lower left corner is Vernon's Pharmacy. The letters VGS can be seen over front entry. There are probably about 100 autos parked nearby. (There is another photo of this event, #539.)

Reservoir is at corner of Valnett Avenue and Second Avenue and was owned by Walnut Grove Mutual Water Company (Valnett Avenue was first through street south of Duarte Road at this time and became Camino Real).

Both ranches are now occupied by First Avenue Junior High School.
