One building in Santa Anita Park Race Track parking lot is Fire Station at 630 S. Baldwin Avenue. Duarte Road is distantly seen in upper portion of photo, about 1 1/4 in. from top of photo. The multi-storied Medical Building seen is at 612 W. Duarte Road.
Ericsson's Pharmacy located on SW corner of Duarte and Baldwin Avenue (1201 S. Baldwin). Note what appears to be called Spartan Market at 1203 S. Baldwin. Proprietor of market according to 1931 City Directory was C.N. Knott.
In this aerial view looking toward the east, the oval directly in the center of photo was a training track belonging to Santa Anita. This was removed to make room for the Fashion Park mall. The small circular track across what is now Baldwin Avenue and the oval track farther south belonged to a private riding stable. The remains of the Los Angeles Jockey Club Track which Joe Smoot and Anita Baldwin started but did not complete in 1933, can be seen in lower right corner. Looking toward east side of Baldwin in first block south of Duarte Road. Newsom's Bootery was at 1206 S. Baldwin. Cars parked parallel to the curb in front of the shops.
Looking west across Baldwin Avenue to southwest corner of Baldwin Avenue and Naomi at Shopping Bag Market. It operated here from the early 1940's to 1970.
Looking west on Duarte Road near intersection with Baldwin Avenue. Ericsson's Pharmacy is listed at 1201 S. Baldwin. West Arcadia Public Market was owned by Mr. C.M. Knott and was located at 1203 S. Baldwin. The new building under construction here on S.E. corner apparently at 1200 S. Baldwin was for the Bank of Italy National Trust & Savings according to 1928 City Directory.

Businesses just west of the corner at 713 West Duarte Road are Active Hair, Mail Boxes Etc., Sakana Seafood, Tender Loving Care TLC Realty & Mortgage, Hit's Coffee & Tea, Every Green Books. Oval to the left of Santa Anita Park Race Track was training track which was removed to make room for Santa Anita Fashion Park (currently Westfield Santa Anita Shopping Mall). Street just to left of training track is Baldwin Avenue. Huntington Drive and Colorado Place form a "y" just east of Santa Anita Park Race Track. Along both can be noticed the conifer trees planted a few years earlier. Street completely bisecting photo just below center is Foothill Boulevard, next one is Orange Grove Avenue. Santa Anita Avenue is partially in view on right edge of photo. Oval on extreme lower left side of photo is old Baldwin training track.
