The abandoned rail bridge over Colorado Boulevard in Arcadia will be removed because it could not accommodate the two-track light rail system and the Gold Line Construction Authority determined it was more efficient and cost effective to remove the structure than to widen it or add a second structure directly adjacent to the ole one. Arcadia City Council voted 4-to-0 to pass a new food hall plan for Downtown Arcadia at 33 West Huntington Drive. The food hall will contain seven to eight different food vendors of a pre-existing building, while the upper floors will continue to operate as self-storage units. Arcadia Mayor Sho Tay pays tribute to Cherry Liu as the Oct 2 City Council Meeting was adjourned. Liu, 50, who was murdered by her estranged husband August 1, who then turned the gun on himself in a murder-suicide. Liu was a long-time resident of Arcadia and volunteered for the City of Arcadia, frequently acted as an interpreter for city staff to help bridge the gap between cultures.
