Aerial view toward north from a position south of Huntington Drive near intersection with Baldwin Avenue. It shows Santa Anita Fashion Park (currently known as Westfield Santa Anita Shopping Mall) developed by and on property owned by Santa Anita Consolidated. The Santa Anita Park Race Track and club house can be seen in center of photo. The straight white line about one inch above the club house roof is 210 Foothill Freeway. Chantry Flats road can be seen going up into San Gabriel Mountains in distance.

Oval to the left of Santa Anita Park Race Track was training track which was removed to make room for Santa Anita Fashion Park (currently Westfield Santa Anita Shopping Mall). Street just to left of training track is Baldwin Avenue. Huntington Drive and Colorado Place form a "y" just east of Santa Anita Park Race Track. Along both can be noticed the conifer trees planted a few years earlier. Street completely bisecting photo just below center is Foothill Boulevard, next one is Orange Grove Avenue. Santa Anita Avenue is partially in view on right edge of photo. Oval on extreme lower left side of photo is old Baldwin training track. Large stone Maltese Cross erected on the Baldwin Ranch by Anita Baldwin, marking graves of the four American Derby winners owned by her father, Elias J."Lucky" Baldwin. The cross and horse's graves are now situated at the Santa Anita Race Track. There is a sign with all details of horses' names and races won.
Tallac Knoll road at Rancho Santa Anita with two men standing on either side. Men appear to be the same as in photo #1540 and 1541 and was most likely taken on the same date. Handwritten note on back reads, "View of proposed road to magazine on south slope of knoll." note: "magazine" was probably for a movie scene (ammunition)

Unknown lady standing on street curbing beside three large palm trees which adjoin a citrus orchard. Location in city is not known, but possibly Santa Anita. Note deep curbs to control rain run-off.
View east of the front of Santa Anita School, probably shortly after its opening, as shrubbery is small. This school was located at 1900 S. Santa Anita Avenue from about the late 1940s until June 1981. Santa Anita School was built on the site of the second school building built by the City, a two-room red brick building, built in 1913 to house grades 1 and 2. In 1982, Arcadia Christian School moved into this location.
Taken at the time of the Library groundbreaking ceremonies for the Arcadia Public Library remodel/expansion project, this photo is of the color rendering of the proposed new facade for the library. See also photos 1356 and 1357 for color renderings of proposed library building.
